Dr. Edin Bukva – Oral Surgery and Implantology Specialist
A doctor with many years of experience in implantology, jaw reconstructions, All-on-4 methods and complex surgical procedures. An approach based on diagnostics, professional assessment and planning of each procedure.
Dr. Edin Bukva is a Doctor of Dental Medicine, a specialist in
maxillofacial surgery, and the owner of a private specialist dental
practice.
He was born, lives, and works in Sarajevo, where he completed both
elementary and secondary school. He enrolled at the Faculty of
Dentistry, University of Sarajevo, graduating in 2011, after which he
began working in private practice. From the very beginning, he showed
a strong interest in maxillofacial surgery and began his
specialization in this field in Sarajevo in 2015. During his
specialization, in 2018, he opened his private dental office “Dr. Edin
Bukva.”
In 2021, he became a specialist in maxillofacial surgery. Today, the
practice is registered as a specialist office for maxillofacial
surgery and polyvalent dentistry. In 2025, he completed a Master’s
degree in Implantology in Bucharest, Romania. Since graduation, he has
participated in numerous international congresses and educational
programs in the fields of dentistry and maxillofacial surgery.
He holds certificates from leading global dental and medical companies
and serves as an opinion leader for Neodent implants, part of the
Straumann Group—recognized as one of the world’s best in dentistry. As
such, he gave the first lecture in Bosnia and Herzegovina on zygomatic
implants at the Esthetic Dental Story conference in February 2024, and
he is one of only two experts in the country who perform and
prosthetically restore these implants. In addition to clinical work,
he conducts training sessions for colleagues in the fields of surgery
and implantology across Bosnia and Herzegovina. His name proudly
stands alongside the Straumann Group, under which he has delivered
lectures on topics such as “Introduction to the Implant System – Basic
Level” and “Neoarch – Bicortical Implant Anchorage.”
He has also served as a lecturer and educator multiple times at the
CSO Orthoseminar (Vienna School) in the field of maxillofacial
surgery, particularly on the topic of “Orthognathic Surgery,” which is
his main area of interest. In recent years, he has been deeply
involved in orthognathic surgery and dental implantology, with a
special focus on the reconstruction of atrophic jaws. He has also
received training in facial and neck plastic reconstructive surgery
from world-renowned experts and has completed numerous courses in oral
and maxillofacial surgery with an emphasis on dental implantology.
He has also attended courses in aesthetic medicine and is certified in
facial and neck filler application and aesthetic treatments. Beyond
scientific advancement, he has shown interest in seminars focused on
business, management, and marketing in dentistry.
He is a member of the Dental Chamber of Sarajevo Canton as a Doctor of
Dental Medicine and Maxillofacial Surgeon. His fluent English and
German have helped him communicate effectively with colleagues
worldwide. He places special emphasis on continuous professional
development and has trained in leading global dental centers under the
mentorship of some of the most renowned names in modern dentistry.
